Here's another color challenge card. Used Crumb Cake along with the 2 challenge colors.

Decided to use the new set WONDERFALL #128087. Misc SU! verse and background stamp used. Love the colors, layout, and speckled backgrounds.

I made the pumpkin decoration last yr. For sale for $20.00 if interested.

OLIVE... my MUMMY!

I recently came across a fantastic blog (http://stampinanne.blogspot.ca/) that lead me to a great weekly  color combination challenges using 2 colors (http://thedynamicduoschallenge.blogspot.ca/). The challenge uses Stampin' Up! colors (my favorite colors in the world) and the results are so creative. I enjoy browsing and decided to start playing along. I used to do various color challenges from other blogs but have not been doing a lot of stamping lately. I am ready for new weekly challenges and to get back to stamping on a more steady basis again.

Here are my projects using the Rich Razzleberry and Old Olive (love these colors alone and more so together). The finished card is 4x4 inches. I used the FANCY FAVOR BIGZ XL box die #115965, GOOGLY GHOULS #128063,  and LABELS COLLECTION FRAMELITS #125598

I added a handle using TASTEFUL TRIM BIGZ XL #120893 and inked DSP using RICH RAZZLEBERRY INK #126950

I outlined the mummy using OLD OLIVE marker. Pierced around label mount using PAPER PIERCING PACK #127857 (template). Added 1/4" old olive grosgrain ribbon (retired) to the top of the card. Cut out stamped bat and finished off with a google eye.

GOOGLY GOBLINS

Gotta love when Stampin' Up offers pre-made kits. It doesn't get much easier. The new GHOULISH GOOGLIES DESIGNER KIT (#126914) is ADORABLE! The kits includes: 20 printed 2 sided tags, 10 glassine bags, 50 adhesive googly eyes, 10 pre-cut pumpkin twine. LOVE IT!

There is a   bundle kit offered (W#129852, C#129853) which is the kit along with the GOOGLY GHOULS stamp set (W#128060 or C#128063) for a 15% savings. Of course, you can buy just the stamp set if that is what you want also.

You will have 10 extra 2 sided tags due to the amount of tags included in the kit.

I stamped the mummy image onto the oblong tags and added 1 googly eye. I finished it off by punching through glassine bag and tying tag on with twine. 10 bags in less than 10 minutes.

TOTAL COST FOR 10 BAGS, STAMP SET, TREATS is less than $18.00.

HALLOWEEN POTION BOTTLES

Since getting the puppies and going back to work I have not had much time to stamp or play in my studio. Both  seem to occupy most of my time. It seems that when there is time to squeeze a craft in, something else occupies that time. I found some time in small spurts today to complete a simple project that could have been completed in less than an hour but, not in my house.

MY FIRST HALLOWEEN PROJECT OF 2012 was totally inspired by the cover of Paper Crafts magazine. I found these bottles at the Dollar Store and  dry brushed painted them  with black acrylic paint. I made the corks out of rolled corrugated cardboard and hot glued them in bottles. I used the LABELS COLLECTION FRAMELETS #125598, APOTHECARY ACCENTS FRAMELETS #127003,  and the new FESTIVE PAPER PIERCING PACK #127857 (ALL in which I am totally in love with!)

I ran them through my BIG SHOT machine, pierced using the fabulous templates, ran purple layer through machine using spider web embossing folder, glued layers together (middle black using pop dots), and attached 3D jack-o-lanterns (Jolene's) sticker embellishments with added hot glue for stability.  

Total cost for both bottles is less than $5.00.

I will use these for decorations or possibly give one away at my next stamp workshop/ camp.

PERFECTLY PRESERVED

I love all the awesome things people are doing with Mason jars (phots ar efound on Google). Glasses, vases, baking, decorating, crafts, etc... the possibilities are endless.Above are some "Hillbilly wine glasses" I made using pint jars, candlesticks, and decorative glass beads. Easy Peasy...

Mason jars are HOT in the craft world right now. Many stamp companies have sets using mason jars, fabric lids, and misc items to coordinate and accessorize the jars. Stampin' Up! has my favorite set right now!

 Stampin' Up! has an adorable stamp bundle  (#129943 wood, #129944 clear) called Perfectly Preserved Bundle that is my absolute favorite right now. I love the size of the stamps. I love the coordinating items to stamp inside the jar. I love the possibilities! This bundle  has die cutting framelits that are metal dies that fit and frame around the stamped images and cut them out. The framlits are designed specifically to coordinate with stamps set and you can see where to cut the images simply by placing framelits around stamped images.  INGENIOUS...So fun!!!! Wahoo! I love SU! The stamps are also sold alone here. The framelits are sold alone here.  if that interests you.

Here's a quick how to: 1.) simply stamp your image onto one single sheet of cardstock. 2.)  Lay the coordinating framelit around your image (as I did above).

3.) Run the through your diecutting machine ( I used Cuttlebug A, B, C in the photo- I grabbed whatever was closest).

4.) Viola! Image is cut out. Just pop the image out and place on project. <<>>!!!!!

This framelits set includes the stem/ leaves for the fruit within the set.

Here is the finished product. A tag for a pint/ quart jar filled with yummy goodness.

Washi Tape Crazy

OK, when it comes to paper crafting I show serious signs of addiction. LOL. I used to consider myself a "paper freak", then I couldn't get enough brads, buttons, ribbons, stamps. My husband referred to me as a "stampoholic". Now, its that darn Washi tape. I LOVE IT!!!!!! Its so fun and easy to use. I love tapes of all kinds... fabric, paper, washi, decorative scotch, duct, and packing. Their are great patterns and style options available these days.

I found a bunch of self adhesive glitter craft tape discounted at a local craft/ fabric store for  less than $2.  

I found that MS is selling 'paper tape' now. For those of you that are a fan or that watch her shows or read her magazine would know that she has used Washi tape for years.  

When I placed my original order for washi tape 2 years ago through Happy Tape I bought a pricey tape holder made of wood with a saw tooth edge. Its a great holder but only holds 8-10 rolls of tape. :(

For a while I just stored a few rolls in a shoebox but now I have way too many to store in one box. I found these awesome ribbon boxes clearanced for $3 at the same local craft/ fabric store and "Ta- da" Washi organization. I wish I would have bought more not just the two. I still have a box full of tapes left. Shhhh! don't tell anyone.

Stamp Camp Projects

I'm running behind a little bit with the Stampin Up! stuff. Ive been busy doing a lot of nothing this summer. Time is just flying by. Better late than never, I guess. Today I finally had a workshop using the Summer Smooches DS paper #125409. WOW! This paper is awesome patterns and colors. I would have never thought to use these colors together otherwise. They really look great- so bright and cheery.

Sophia's Cake Topper

I made another cake topper. This is my 3rd topper made this summer. This one is going on Sophia's birthday cake. After a few trials, I decided that a small/ desert paper plate would work great for the base.

I hot glued decorative tissue streamer paper toback of plate to make a ruffle edge.

I drew a monogram S template ( I made myself) and traced onto pink cardstock. I hand cut it out and glued to green polka dot paper. I then glued the paper to center of small cake paper plate. I then added puffy paint 'dots' around plate edge. Finally, I attached two straws at bottom so that it goes into cake.  Easy!

Bow Wow Wow...

Meet the newest members of our family, Stella the English Bulldog (Bully) 13 wks, and Harlow

the French Bulldog (Frenchie) 9 wks.

As you can see they are the cutest things. They have adapted pretty well and have become pretty good friends. Now we just have to get that potty training accomplished. Ughh...

Pink Polka Dot Birthday

Our last birthday of the summer is this week- my youngest, Sophia, will be 11. Wow! If I didn't live with her and see her growing before me everyday I would not believe it. She's growing up so fast! My husband and I were just talking about this the other night. He's been out of town off and on all summer and he thought she looked taller and older than when he left. She's definitely growing fast, but not as fast as it seems.  

Let the party planning begin! She is having a couple girlfriends over and we will take them to a local pro softball game in Akron. Although she is a tomboy, she picked pink and green polka dots for her birthday theme/ colors. I was so excited to get started on simple but fun party invitations. I found adorable  polka dot plates, napkins, and crepe paper streamers. I also found coordinating colors table cloth, vases, baskets, candles, balloons, and all the trimmings. It'll be cute!

   I kept it simple and Cased the layout for the invites from here . I paper pieced a large bold cupcake image from DoodleFactory or here I think their stamps are very unique and kinda crazy! I love the big bold images.

I used  SU! #101055 Crystal Effects on the cherry to add 3D lacquered look.

My daughter picked out the small plastic baskets for party favors for her guests. She thought they would be awesome to hold various nail polishes on a dresser in their rooms. I thought that was a nice idea- although I would have preferred a handmade bag. We found the baskets in the dollar spot at Target. We filled each with various candies, and items like: jump ropes  polka dot beach balls, mini hair brush and mirror for their purses/ book bags, and lip glosses.

I made coordinating tags for each basket using the same cupcake image and papers. I used the polka dot crepe paper streamers to make a ruffle on the bottom of the tag. I think the guests will like them. I know I would have at that age. Have a great weekend.

Here's a cute Graduation card I made for one of the many graduate's parties we were invited to this summer.

I paper pieced the bold image scooter from Paper Smooches I covered the existing flag with  a hand cut flag using a sentiment from SU!

 I love it!

Butterfly Softness

I totally cased this from a card I found here. Its a great way to use up

scraps or dig into your new stash of  washi tape. I love the strips of color.Its a 

really easy layout. I whipped up a few of these in less than 10 minutes. 

I used #118138 Beautiful Wings Embosslits and #119246 Rhinestones along with various patterned paper scraps to complete.
