EXTREME SKATEBOARDER

Playing with a sketch from http://iheart2stamp.com/. Decided to use some new SU! stamps. I am always in need of masculine cards and loved the Extreme Elements and Extreme sets (all) from the new catalog. I used the SU! Color Coach (wheel) to help pick the masuline color combination. I'm happy with the way this turned out. TFL. Have a good Day.
Extreme Elements, Extreme Skateboard SU! sets. Artichoke, Not Quite Navy, Clos To Cocoa and Baja Blue CS and inks. Misc. brown button. Large punched star. Distressing done with cocoa ink and sponge.

SOMETHING OTHER THAN A CARD

I'm am really enjoying making little home decor items these days. I found these Bazzill frames at Archiver's a couple weeks ago and have made quite a few of them. I also had an extra IKEA Shadowbox frame left over from my workshop last week so I decided to put it to use too. I made this set for my 15 year old daughter. We are working on re-doing her bedroom and these are the colors and theme she has chose to decorate her room. She is into very bold/ bright colors. She wants each wall painted different colors. Yikes! She enjoys skateboarding, sports, rock and roll, all kinds of music, and the 1980s Wish me luck. hahahahahaha
Here is a close up picture of the frame itself (that is not my daughter's picture, that is the picture that came in the frame). I am waiting for some recent pictures to be delivered from Shutterfly to add to the frame. I bought a single sheet of "doodle" DP from Rusty Pickle and colored it with bright Sharpies. I then cut out each little section, and collaged it to fit onto the frame. It took a while but I am pleased with the way it turned out.
Yuck.. this is not a very good picture of the shadowbox- sorry. I tried. I collaged the rest of the items left from the single sheet of paper onto a 5x5 inch paper scrap to place inside her shadowbox. I wish the picture turned out better than this so you could see how bright and cheery it really is. Yes, this pink is nearly fluorescent

Items Used: Bazzill Frame, Rusty Pickle DP, Sharpies, Pop dots, Mono Adhesive, IKEA shadowbox Frame 6x6.

MOJO TURNS 100

I fell in love with this Making Memories DP line (Chloe's Closet) the first time I saw it earlier this summer. I finally bought a package of it last week at Michaels ( I used a coupon which makes it even better, right?). I am so glad I bought it, it is easy to use, easy to coordinate, and easy to grunge up or add some "shabby" to it. I decided to use the coordinating papers to make a card for each of the MOJO100 sketches (thus far) and to make a coordinating box to hold the cards. Then I used the scraps to make a couple adorable tags (hanging on the box). I am starting to make Christmas gifts so this will go into my gift stash. This will work perfectly for a co-worker or teacher. Maybe a friend or neighbor.
STAMPS- Really Retro, Sidekick Sayings
PAPER- MM Chloe's Closet, Brocade Blue CS, Kiwi Kiss CS, Whisper White CS, Marigold Morning CS,
EMBELLISHMENTS- Coordinating Fabric Tags, Fabric Brads, Dew Drops, Ribbon, Old Paper Distress Ink
Here is a close up picture of the bird card, the box, and the whole card ensemble which consists of 6 cards (2 of each MOJO layout). Thanks for stopping by.

Hello, Happy Sunday. Hope everyone is doing well. Posts have been scarce this week, sorry. I worked all week and pulled something in my lower back. I have never been so sore in my life. Its been "summer -like" in terms of th eweather and I have just been "worn out". I am getting ready to go back to my "main" job next wee(I have mixed emotions about that). I work in a school during the school year and in skilled nursing, acute care and sub-acute care facilities in the summer.( I will miss the people I treated and work with). It has taken me a few days to get laundry done since my back pain and work schedule. The kids had travel softball tryouts, birthday parties, and I conducted a stamp/ craft workshop yesterday am.
We made 6x6 shadow boxes. I forgot to get some pictures of the ladies working and their final projects but did get pictures of my shadow boxes and the inspiration for each of theirs. Everyone made the same layout but changed the colors to suit their needs (match the rooms of their house). One lady made 2 for her daughter's bedroom, a few ladies made them for their bathrooms. My boxes hang in my craft/ stamp studio. I made mine specifically to match the colors in the room. Here they are:

Witchy Women

CTD54 was the inspiration for this one. http://colorthrowdown.blogspot.com/

Good afternoon everyone. It is sunny again here in NE Ohio. We've had a mild (cool summer temps) and "rainy" summer. Because of the crazy weather, I have not took my girls swimming one time. I have had to wear a sweatshirt or sweater in the evenings- crazy! Oh well, summer has still been enjoyable. Enough rambling... on with my card description- I colored this image yesterday when I came across this challenge. I played around with the papers and layout for a while but was not satisfied "I was just not feeling it". I decided to walk away from it and work on it a little today. This is what I came up with.
The sketch is a past challenge from http://jacksonbelleembellishments.wordpress.com/. It was very hard to imagine these colors together, These are definitely colors that I do not reach for often. I'm not one that uses rust, gray, and blush (I do not know if I have ever used blush). I like rust but usually only use it in the fall. Pumpkin Pie is one of my favorite SU! colors and I use this color often (especially in the fall). The crazy combinations are what make color challenges so fun! Right?
Stamps: MFT
Paper: SU! rust, blush, pumpkin, gray, Basic Gray (Ambrosia) DP
Ink: SU! blush and rust for sponging, Black for image
Accessories: Gray Ribbon (miss Elizabeth's from Dollar Tree),Sentiment and bones (behind ribbon) K&Co. Halloween diecuts, Cloud 9 raindrops, Darice rhinestones.
Technique: Gamsol Blending with PrismaColor Pencils.
