Friday Cupcake Challenge 7-24-09

Yeah, its cupcake day! I wish I had some cupcakes in the house right now, that would be yummy. I love, love, love cake of every kind- cupcakes especially. My husband thought I was a nut when I came home with one of those "cupcake trees" by Wilton. I have used it 3 times in 2 years (it still looks cute). When it is loaded it looks adorable. You can also use this for treat bags for Halloween, Birthdays, and/ or Easter. This card was made for the Cupcake Challenge TECC7 found here: http://tayloredexpressions.blogspot.com/2009/07/taylored-expressions-cupcake-challenge_24.html
Large Cupcake Stamp (sweetie) by Katie & Co. (Michael's Dollar Stamp), Sentiment Cupcake Stamp by Hampton Art- Hot Fudge Studio (Michael's Dollar Stamp), Bashful Blue, Groovy Guava (retired) SU! cardstock, Cheeky Collection (Emery) DS papers by Making Memories, 1 1/4 inch and 1 3/8 circle punches by SU!, slot punch by SU!, Blue ribbon by SU!, Light Cerulean Blue, Peach, Crimson red, and Dark Brown Prisma Color Pencils and Gamsol blending solution. I used brown 3D paper paint (Scribbles) on the large cupcakes to look like mini chocolate chips. I could not get a good close- up picture to show you.
Thanks for stopping by. Hope you find some time to stamp and maybe even bake some cupcakes.

I fit another project in this evening. This box is so fun! I loved making it... I think I will be making a lot of these in the future. They will make great gift boxes for the Holidays. I have another box I want to make sometime soon (mini pizza box). I got my Sept/ Oct. 2009 Papercrafts Magazine in the mail today which put me in the "Halloween mood". Cindy Haffner's Sketch Selection LPSC25

Here is another sketch challenge I tried today. http://littlepapershop.blogspot.com/
I also played with a new stamp. YEAH!!!! Getting new stamps is always so exciting. The stamp company can be found here http://www.nutcrafters.co.uk/zen/ I came across their blog and entered a contest a few weeks ago and won 2nd prize (which was 2 stamps and 15% off my original order). Here is one called "MAC". I thought she was cute. I will be uploading some others very soon- stay tuned! Yes... she has red streaks in her hair. I tried to make her fun and trendy.

BACK TO SCHOOL... LOOKIN' COOL!

I'm running a little behind this week with my stamping. I don't know where time has gone. This week is just flying by, yet I have not had time to stamp until today. I have been good and stayed on top of the house work, paying bills, laundry, cooking, and "car-pooling". I even fit in some work (outside the home)today.
I stamped quite a few cards this afternoon(trying to keep up with all my favorite blog challenges). Here is MOJO Monday 96
(7-20-09). http://mojomonday.blogspot.com/ I also combined the Color Throwdown Challenge #52 found here: http://colorthrowdown.blogspot.com/ into this card. I thought the argyle paper was perfect to use with this little girl. Argyle reminds me of school uniforms, sweater vests, and socks.
Misc. Argyle Pattern Paper (bought at JoAnn's), Certainly Celery, Chocolate Chip, Perfect Plum SU! CS, SU! Celery Twill Ribbon, Chipboard Verse (hi) from Craft Essentials, Rain Dots (flower centers) by Cloud 9 Design, Lilac, Parma Violet, True Green, Dark Umber, Light Umber, Peach, and Light Peach PrismaColors used with Gamsol. Treehouse Stamps Color Combo Challenge #6

Played along with today's color challenge at http://treehousestamps.blogspot.com/. Their challenges use SU! colors. This week they chose pretty in pink, certainly celery, and regal rose. I really like these colors together. They definately are feminine but also remind me of pink lemonade, roses, and mint leaves. I tweaked yesterday's sketch challenge (sc237) and used it for this card.
The pictures do not show all the paper piercing, and added texture/ dimension very well. I am still working on improving my photography skills. Thanks for looking.

I used FRIENDS & LATTES set from treehouse stamps, Two Scoops paper by Basic Gray, misc. pink buttons, colored image with PrismaPencils and Gamsol, Ribbon by Offrey, Swiss Dots Embossing folder by Cuttlebug, dimensional foam mounts for image layer.

Cosmo Cricket Simple Cards

Got some Cosmo Cricket paper and stickers for my birthday a couple weeks ago. I thought I'd make up some quick, simple, and cute cards I can use for adults or kids. The elephant and bunny were cased from the Cosmo Idea Sheet that came with the paper but, I did the rest on my own.

CC227 from SCS

Played with today's color challenge from SCS. I almost gave up- it took me 2+ hours to finish this card. I am not a "purple person."

No stamping on this one. Paper is from Oriental trading (halloween pack). Chipboard flower is Making Memories, Chipboard Sentiment is K&Co. Ribbon is Offrey, Martha Stewart circle punches.
