HOLIDAY LAMP POST CHRISTMAS CARDS

I know this die cut is old but its new to me. Every time I went to purchase this either online or in store it was always sold out. I finally purchased this in October at a local Stamp Convention. Yeah! I love it. Can be used for Halloween also.

I used metallic texture card stock for each lamppost. I used up some older Basic Grey Papers for the background. Another simple and fairly quick card. Waiting for the stickles (on the berries)to dry  took the longest.

Gingerbread Christmas

Here is another one of my many Christmas cards I made this year. This was a simple and quick die cut card using T!m Holtz's Sizzix Gingerbread and holly from his Holiday Lampost die cut. I inked edges to give the cookie further texture. I added black and red self adhesive pearls for eyes and buttons. I thought the red looked like cinnamon candies.

 I hope this quick and easy card gives you inspiration to make last minute tags or cards.

Christmas Tin Pins from Darcie's

 I first came across these at a local convention in October. ADORABLE! I knew I had to have them, every single one of them. They were screaming "buy me and create cute and unique things" They each measure 1" and are round flat back pin/ buttons that are added to a coordinating stamped image to create amazingly adorable finished projects. 



I love each and every one of them. I used copics to color that coordinated beautifully with the colors on the pins. I used hot glue gun to attach pin and embellishments to card front.

My favorite Christmas card color combination is red, aqua, and olive. I use this combination almost every yr. and I used it again this yr. as you can see above.





Ornament Keepsake Poinsettia.

I have jumped on the ornament making bandwagon. I have seen many renditions of the ornament from the front cover and page 3 of the Holiday Mini catalog. I am hosting a stamp camp in which this will be our focus. Here is my rendition.

First you will need the Ornament Keepsakes stamps set and the Framelits from page 3 in the mini catalog. *Note, they can be purchased together in a bundle at a 15% discount. LOVE THAT!

I used Gumball Green, Midnight Muse, and Raspberry Ripple ink colors. Stamp 18 Large ornaments, cut them out using the framelits. Cut another 6 blank ornaments.

Fold all 18  stamped ornaments in half. Keep folded and attach to the left and right of a blank ornament  base, then add another on top (3 folded ornaments for each petal).

Each petal should look like this.

Glue each petal together with top of ornaments in center and on a 1 1/2" circle base.

Punch a hole in one petal (this will become the top). Cut out 1-2 kind sof snowflake designs and mount in center.

Stamp a different ornament in Midnight Muse and punch out a  1 1/4" or larger circle to mount in center of the attached snowflakes.  Stamp circular detail from stamp set in Raspberry Ripple and punch out using a 1" circle punch. Mount to the center of the navy circle punched prior. Add twine for hanging ans a pearl in the center. Viola! 

These will be awesome on top of a Christmas package,  hanging from a gift bag, or hanging in your tree as a unique ornament. LOVE IT!

 

CHRISTMAS TAGS IN LESS THAN AN HOUR

After feeding the pups this morning and before the beauty shop appt and the grocery store, I found time to make a few tags for an upcoming Holiday Cookie Exchange I'm hosting. I came up with the idea, cut papers, attached papers, die cut trees, punched gingerbread men, stamped sentiments, and added stickles for buttons all within an hour.  Not bad, if I do say so myself. I've been in a creative rut lately, and I have sat in my craft studio for hours without one complete card or tag. I felt very productive today. I will distress edges with ink and tie them on top wrapped packages with vintage red/ green twine for a more complete look. I'm pleased with how they turned out. Very festive! I will be making more simple and quick Holiday tags in the near future. Please come back and visit.

Keepsake Ornament Tags

Here are a couple tags I made using the small oblong ornament from the set  ORNAMENT KEEPSAKES. Stamp the ornament 3 times and cut out. Fold all 3 in half. Mount on to left, right, and then last on top to give 3D effect.

I love the Gumball Green, Raspberry Ripple, and Midnight Muse together. I used the piercing templates to add further detail to the circle and around the ornament. Simple...

COOL TIP

Through browsing and reading various blogs and websites, I came across a simple and easy tip for storing 2 box stamps sets like the ORNAMENT KEEPSAKES (#128051) set in the holiday mini.

Slide the (2 of 2) cover sheet in the sleeve on the back of the case first case (1 of 2) and place all rubber cling stamps inside the case. COMBINE THEM! I told you it was simple. I nearly slapped my forehead and shouted "why didn't I think of that?"

Trick Or Treat Potion

Well, after many weeks of drying out, cleaning up, repairing, and re-decorating, I am back hosting Stamp workshops. Yeah!!! Better late than never.I hosted a Halloween workshop using the Toxic Treats stamp set and some accessories. I found the adorable striped popcorn boxes at local store and thought they looked great with the striped paper within the Howlstooth & Scaringbone DSP. You can find a more detailed photo of the HERSHEY bar treat envelope in a previous post. So easy, yet so cute!

Here is a close-up of the Potion bottle we made. I ordered these from Hobby Lobby ahead of time to make sure there would be enough (and extra- I have another idea to use these with this, next summer). Using vintage twine, distress ink, and various punches and die cuts here is the final project.

I love how they turned out! The feather  and the glitter on the cork top really adds a funky detail.

TOXIC TREATS

Ok, I will admit, I totally stole this idea and tweaked them just a bit. I came across these wickedly cool candy pouches here.

I used: 3 x 5 3/8" envelopes (non SU!),  HOWLSTOOTH & SCARINGBONE #126906 DSP, retired MORE MUSTARD 1/4" grosgrain ribbon, BLACK & TANGERINE CS, LABELS FRAMELITS #125598, TOXIC TREATS STAMPS #127901, and retired More Mustard 1/4" grosgrain ribbon.  Regular size candy bars fit perfectly. They can be easily filled with other goodies.

GRATEFUL

Here's another color challenge card. Used Crumb Cake along with the 2 challenge colors.

Decided to use the new set WONDERFALL #128087. Misc SU! verse and background stamp used. Love the colors, layout, and speckled backgrounds.

I made the pumpkin decoration last yr. For sale for $20.00 if interested.

OLIVE... my MUMMY!

I recently came across a fantastic blog (http://stampinanne.blogspot.ca/) that lead me to a great weekly  color combination challenges using 2 colors (http://thedynamicduoschallenge.blogspot.ca/). The challenge uses Stampin' Up! colors (my favorite colors in the world) and the results are so creative. I enjoy browsing and decided to start playing along. I used to do various color challenges from other blogs but have not been doing a lot of stamping lately. I am ready for new weekly challenges and to get back to stamping on a more steady basis again.

Here are my projects using the Rich Razzleberry and Old Olive (love these colors alone and more so together). The finished card is 4x4 inches. I used the FANCY FAVOR BIGZ XL box die #115965, GOOGLY GHOULS #128063,  and LABELS COLLECTION FRAMELITS #125598

I added a handle using TASTEFUL TRIM BIGZ XL #120893 and inked DSP using RICH RAZZLEBERRY INK #126950

I outlined the mummy using OLD OLIVE marker. Pierced around label mount using PAPER PIERCING PACK #127857 (template). Added 1/4" old olive grosgrain ribbon (retired) to the top of the card. Cut out stamped bat and finished off with a google eye.

GOOGLY GOBLINS

Gotta love when Stampin' Up offers pre-made kits. It doesn't get much easier. The new GHOULISH GOOGLIES DESIGNER KIT (#126914) is ADORABLE! The kits includes: 20 printed 2 sided tags, 10 glassine bags, 50 adhesive googly eyes, 10 pre-cut pumpkin twine. LOVE IT!

There is a   bundle kit offered (W#129852, C#129853) which is the kit along with the GOOGLY GHOULS stamp set (W#128060 or C#128063) for a 15% savings. Of course, you can buy just the stamp set if that is what you want also.

You will have 10 extra 2 sided tags due to the amount of tags included in the kit.

I stamped the mummy image onto the oblong tags and added 1 googly eye. I finished it off by punching through glassine bag and tying tag on with twine. 10 bags in less than 10 minutes.

TOTAL COST FOR 10 BAGS, STAMP SET, TREATS is less than $18.00.

HALLOWEEN POTION BOTTLES

Since getting the puppies and going back to work I have not had much time to stamp or play in my studio. Both  seem to occupy most of my time. It seems that when there is time to squeeze a craft in, something else occupies that time. I found some time in small spurts today to complete a simple project that could have been completed in less than an hour but, not in my house.

MY FIRST HALLOWEEN PROJECT OF 2012 was totally inspired by the cover of Paper Crafts magazine. I found these bottles at the Dollar Store and  dry brushed painted them  with black acrylic paint. I made the corks out of rolled corrugated cardboard and hot glued them in bottles. I used the LABELS COLLECTION FRAMELETS #125598, APOTHECARY ACCENTS FRAMELETS #127003,  and the new FESTIVE PAPER PIERCING PACK #127857 (ALL in which I am totally in love with!)

I ran them through my BIG SHOT machine, pierced using the fabulous templates, ran purple layer through machine using spider web embossing folder, glued layers together (middle black using pop dots), and attached 3D jack-o-lanterns (Jolene's) sticker embellishments with added hot glue for stability.  

Total cost for both bottles is less than $5.00.

I will use these for decorations or possibly give one away at my next stamp workshop/ camp.
